Teyana Taylor just came out with this amazing video for Kanye [West]’s song,” said Amber Rose, in the latest episode of Loveline with Amber Rose, her podcast on CBS Radio’s Play.it. She was discussing Taylor’s role in West’s video for “Fade.” “I know about a million strippers who dance in that outfit… they get slut shamed for it.”
Rose partnered with sex therapist Dr. Chris Donaghue and guest Blac Chyna to discuss some of the issues prevalent in today’s society when it comes to the perception and judgment of strippers. Both Rose and Chyna were strippers at different points in their lives and pointed out some interesting similarities between Taylor’s well-perceived music video and the nightly routine of a stripper.

“Little booty shorts and a little sports bra top, body is insane,” elaborated Rose while talking about Taylor’s outfit during the video. “I just feel like it boils down to classicism, right? It’s like ‘A stripper is more classless because she is in a club and a different type of setting than a music video filmed in Hollywood.’ But, it’s really the same exact thing, you’re getting paid for being beautiful and being sexy and dancing.”
Rose was not shaming Taylor in any way. Rather, she was expressing her love for the talented singer and dancer. Rose discussed her frustration at the different ways society perceives male and female strippers and both Chyna and Rose had plenty to draw on when it came to this topic.
“Channing Tatum was a stripper, The Game was a stripper, and they’re guys and no one says anything,” Rose said. “They’ll say ‘Oh yeah, he was a stripper, that’s cool.’ When it comes to me and Chyna, [they say] ‘They’re f—ing hoes, they’re gold diggers, they’re only out for money.’”
Rose and Chyna went back and forth talking about how difficult it gets for them dealing with the public’s image of them as women and went as far to talk about the likes of Rob Kardashian, Tyga, Kanye West and Wiz Khalifa.
While Rose is pushing her new feminist movement though her event, The Amber Rose SlutWalk, she knows that many people are not able to see the event for what it truly represents. Rose goes on to expand on the true meaning of her movement and how important it is for women to be able to be themselves and be treated equally.
These are only a few of the many topics discussed in this week’s Loveline Podcast. Listen to the full show to hear more from hosts Amber Rose, Dr. Chris Donaghue and guest host Blac Chyna.
